Job description

At DAF we use Model Driven Development in MATLAB Simulink to model (program) our software on a real-time, time-based platform.
In the future, we want to be able to migrate to a High Performance Computer (HPC) platform, on which we’ll have a time-based part and an event-based part. As not all of our software modules have real-time requirements, we want to move those modules to the event-based part. As Simulink is designed as a time-based simulation environment, we need to move away from Simulink for those software modules.

This task includes:

  • Learning MATLAB Simulink (with focus on reading models)
  • Investigate which event-based environment we need to use
  • Investigate how to unit test software in this environment
  • Investigate how this event-based system communicates with the time-based system
  • Identify and port models that are well suited for event-based execution
Possible extensions:
  • Analyzing response times of this event-based platform
